Earlier today in Paris, Valentino's creative duo Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli presented a whimsical and artistically-infused collection at the historic Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, overflowing with lush fabrics, rich embroidery and pure magic...

Romance and art was wafting through the air yesterday during Valentino's Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2015 show, as creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli set free an array of breathtaking looks inspired by classic beauty, from all over the world.

The show opened with an angelic black velvet dress, the 'Black Angel' as the designers called it, with Renaissance-themed and Marc Chagall-inspired looks following – putting the front row in a mythical trance.

Sheer dresses were beaded and cinched at the waist while heavily embroidered skirts and crème blouses appeared with red floral decorations, as well as relaxed trousers with the same colourful blossoms.

Similar to a modern-day fairytale, elegant strapless dresses then emerged with sparkling motifs of clouds, sunrays, stars and rainbows – leaving us with the heavenly sight of Valentino's Haute Couture angels. A select few of the dresses also featured lace corsets, which was a reference to old traditions and dressmaking.

Dreamy in every sense of the word was the main undercurrent that was encapsulated by Valentino's Haute Couture collection, making us never want to wake up.
