New York Fashion Week: Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 16
When we heard that Tommy Hilfiger was inspired by 'island life' this season, we braced ourselves for some fun sunny set designs. After all, Hilfiger is the master of set production when it comes to fashion presentations (who could forget his mega scale all-American football field for Autumn/Winter 15?), and we were not disappointed. Hilfiger brought the Caribbean island of Mustique to Manhattan, recreating the beach, Caribbean Sea and all, at his Pier 36 venue.
The set was befitting of the uber summery Spring/Summer 16 collection, which was dominated by swimwear. Two-piece swimsuits, casually connected by loosely strewn crochet across the midriff, kaftan-esque maxi dresses and beachy separates were abundant. All were decorated in bright and vibrant colours, infused with a Rasta inflection.
"It's island life," said Hilfiger, before the show, in case it wasn't already blindingly clear "I love the islands." And who wouldn't, with the vibrance that Hilfiger has injected into this collection, we could happily pack for an extended stay on the islands. Discover the collection in full via our gallery below...
