Tom Ford's camp deny Gucci rumours

But that doesn't mean they are not true...

Following reports that surfaced yesterday suggesting that Tom Ford could be returning to Gucci once again and replacing Frida Giannini, today 90s Gucci fans dreams may well have been shattered – as a spokesperson at Ford's camp vehemently denies the rumours...

A spokesperson has denied the rumours that circulated yesterday – naming Tom Ford as a potential candidate to replace Frida Giannini saying: "This is absolutely and completely unfounded. His own brand is growing dramatically and he views that as the next 30 years of his life." 

Lets pause here to remember that there was once a time when Giannini herself passionately denied claims she was leaving the house saying at the time "We don't want to [officially] deny such absurd rumours stemming from nothing. It would be stupid. There is good harmony, although we know it's a delicate moment for the markets." That was in May 2014, fast-forward just seven months and she had handed it her resignation. So Tom Ford + Gucci fans – all is not lost, there is hope still...

Ford was instrumental in returning Gucci to a profitable business, following a decade of incredible work from 1994–2004. Frida Giannini was supposed to work a "notice period", and leave the Italian fashion house following her final collection presentation at Milan Fashion Week next month. The Roman designer, however, made a swift exit from her role as Gucci's creative director earlier this week.

And so the mystery continues: Who will replace Giannini at Gucci? We, for one, are growing impatient...
