First look: Thom Browne Pre-Fall 2015

Uniformed development

Continuing on the idea from his Spring/Summer 15 show, but more feminine, Thom Browne made his pre-fall collection based on uniforms

"The idea was simple shapes that aren't boring," Thom Browne explained, while describing key Pre-Fall 15 pieces such as jackets, ankle-length trousers, overcoats and jaunty pleated skirts.

With a keen eye for textiles, Browne created stunning fabrics for this range of ensembles, like rich tweeds that were combined cotton-cashmere wool with paper and rubber for a unique texture, as well as refined silk jacquards embedded on classic men's tie patterns.

Mostly every look in the tailored line-up featured a collar shirt, "It enhances the specialty of the harder garments, which in turn elevates the shirt," Browne said. With standout looks including a long wool camel-coloured coat worn over a white turtle neck, loose black trousers and black brogues – a pretty chic uniform if you ask us.
