The original paparazzo - Richard Young - to exhibit his most iconic images
‘Ready-to-buy’ photography in London
Richard Young - known as being the original paparazzo or, more delicately, the society photographer - has captured over 40 years of pop culture. With a diverse portfolio - including the likes of Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie, Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder, to name a few - Young has been billed as one of the most important photographers in the 20th century.
A photography exhibition, Pret-A-Photo, will be held in his honour to celebrate his 40 years of success at the Richard Young Gallery where his most iconic pictures will be displayed. Expect to see some of Hollywood's most candid moments, from a young Bowie turning his lens to Young in a series of captured shots circa 1984 to Kate Moss getting her make-up done backstage sometime in the 90's. These are moments in pop culture history that only Young would have been be able to snap.
Pret-A-Photo is open until 31 January at the Richard Young Gallery.
