The LVMH Prize enlists an all-star panel of experts for its sixth edition
Since 2013 the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers has been offering budding talents the chance to take their dreams and turn them into a reality. Over the years, the calibre of panel experts has grown stronger and stronger and now, in a move to increase its digital presence, the luxury goods company is bringing on board some of the biggest names in media and e-commerce.
Already confirmed in the panel line-up are Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni (who has close ties with LVMH-owned Dior for whom she earned Dhs20 million in media impact value at her wedding), Naomi Campbell, Rami Atallah, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ssense.com, Edward Enninful of Vogue UK and Aimee Song of fashion blog Song of Style.
As of now, the panel consists of 62 experts, half of which come from traditional media while the rest straddle both the offline and online worlds. Delphine Arnault, second-in-command at Louis Vuitton and a member of LVMH’s executive committee said of the group, "We are thrilled to welcome this year both prominent personalities from traditional fashion media and professionals who have succeeded in creating innovative online platforms for communication and commerce."
Also, we've heard rumblings of Louis Vuitton's Creative Director for Menswear Virgil Abloh joining the jury, but nothing is certain yet. Nicolas Ghesquière, who designs womenswear at Louis Vuitton, already sits on the jury.
