The British Fashion Council holds its inaugural Fashion Forum
A lesson from the fashion world's finest
On Tuesday, The British Fashion Council drew together creative design talent, chief executive officers, entrepreneurs and politicians in a brainstorming hub.
Forum speakers included designer Anya Hindmarch, Natalie Massenet (the BFC's chairman), Jonathan Akeroyd (CEO of Alexander McQueen) and Andrew Rosen (CEO of Theory), all there to discuss everything from challenges of hiring a CEO to creating a sustainable business to breaking into different global markets.
During a speech by Massenet, the Net-a-Porter founder said "If you don't have vision, you don't have a business" stating that one of her goals of the was 'to change (designers') mind-sets from designers to entrepreneurs — so designers, you are officially entrepreneurs," she said.
She also added that the BFC plans to hold a similar forum "every couple of years."
