The 2019 Met Gala: Red carpet arrivals
It's on
Once again, the first Monday in May was upon us and the who's who of fashion and Hollywood gather on the steps of the Met to fete this year's Met Gala.
This year's theme, Camp: Notes on Fashion, inspired a slew of bright, eyecatching outfits as stars attempted to outshine one another to nab a spot on best dressed lists worldwide.
Lady Gaga (this year's co-host) was one of the first to arrive, donning not one, not two, but four different looks between the start of the carpet and the end of the stairs — as you do. Harry Styles opted for a daring Gucci ensemble, whilst brand ambassador Jared Leto brought along a replica of his own head and the Kardashian-Jenner clan turned out in metallics for the evening. Serena Williams also opted for a bold look, teaming a neon yellow Versace gown paired with a pair of Off-White x Nike sneakers in the same hue, whilst Zendaya looked like a modern-day Cinderella in her blue gown.
There was plenty of gold and no shortage of feathers either, and we spied a few recent runway pieces, too — Hailee Steinfeld's Viktor & Rolf couture dress was a highlight.
