The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards: Best of the Red Carpet

The music crowd strikes a pose at The Forum in Inglewood

Musicians, actors and reality TV stars came out in full force on Sunday, flooding the red carpet in leather, lace, cropped tops, sequins and more before the MTV Video Music Awards

Last night, all of the biggest names in music headed to Inglewood, California for the 31st annual MTV Video Music Awards.

Known for being one of the most exciting and offbeat award show's in the business, the VMA's always bring out the best and most eccentric when it comes to fashion looks and performances. The who's who of the music world were all present last night, as stars from Beyoncé and Ariana Granda to Adam Levine and his new wife Behati Prinsloo strolled down the red carpet.

Memorable looks included Iggy Azalea, who donned a silver Versace dress, Rita Ora who looked ultra-glamourous in her red silk Donna Karan gown as well as Jennifer Lopez who was sporting a sparkling silver cut-out dress.

Opting for something a bit darker, Ariana Grande – the VMA'S opening performer – wore a black leather Moschino mini-dress while Katy Perry paid homage to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's denim look from the 2001  American Music Awards, in a patchwork denim gown.

And when it came to menswear, British singer Sam Smith took the title as most dapper in a Gucci navy three-piece Signoria suit.
