Paris Fashion Week: Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 15
Recently making her affiliation with Scotland's 'Yes' campaign quite known, Dame Vivienne Westwood showed her mainline collection in Paris this afternoon to an audience who are well aware of her penchant for pushing political views through fashion.
The 72-year-old designer is also well documented for being engaged in eco-activism projects – and in that vein today, the new Vivienne Westwood mainline collection for Spring/Summer 15 upholds her tireless campaign in support of the concept 'End Ecocide', which aims to draw attention to the problems caused by human destruction of natural ecosystems.
In terms of the fashion on show, aside from a point-making Adam and Eve style fig leaf look over a nude bikini, the attire was far from minimalist. Some outfits were made to look like costumes, designed as though they had been worn all night, and for following day's journey back home, too. For beauty, lipstick was smeared, hair tousled and rough. One look in particular was made up of a chic satin camisole with lace embellishment draped over simple jersey leggings – appearing as though perhaps one Cinderella from the ball had already begun the process of turning into a pumpkin.
