According to her show notes, the Lebanese designer looked at the French couturiers of the Twenties as her inspiration for her sparkling SS15 collection

As we reach the halfway mark of New York Fashion Week, we have seen an abundance of sports themed collections, however yesterday, Reem Acra took us back to the elegant and ultra-glamourous past of couture in the 1920s, unveiling a collection filled with gowns, creamy silks and silver sequins.

The luxurious lineup included asymmetrical chiffon dresses – short and long – sequined strapless dresses which featured abdominal cut-outs that subtlety revealed some skin and an abundance of embellished halter gowns.

The show ended on a delicate, floral note, as models were draped in floor-length ensembles that had lace in a descending pattern emblased upon them.
