Childhood memories

Susanne Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason reflected on their lives as children during their upbringing in East Germany during the 1980s, contrasting utility and fantasy for SS15

Now as adult's, Ostwald and Helgason gave us an impression of their childhood through their latest collection of clothes. The designing duo created looks based on school and scout uniforms, using folkloric prints and crochet appliqués. The 28 looks featured exaggerated pockets on jackets and pleats on skirts, while cargo jackets were worn over feminine patterned short dresses and khaki pants.

Other stand out looks which showed off Ostwald Helgason's influences from the past, included a khaki T-shirt with rolled-up sleeves tucked into a long A-line orange floral print skirt and an abundance of crisp white collar shirts worn under dresses and over skirts.
