London Fashion Week: Matthew Williamson Spring/Summer 15

Welcome to paradise

This Spring/Summer 15, Matthew Williamson took inspiration from a recent trip to Bali and the moods and muses of the 70s, unveiling a lineup full of tropical glamour

For Matthew Williamson's latest collection, his aim was to create lush, exotic summer designs, which is exactly what he did.  Using light silks, delicate lace, embellished suede and a Balinese hibiscus design that was put on dresses, pants and blazers as a print or as sequined embroidery.

With a color palette inspired by warm summer days and nights, from teal to sky blue, long pencil skirts with embroidered flowers were paired with a loose collard-blouse, while printed shift dresses came with thin black feathers dangling at the hems – giving off a holiday air of relaxed sophistication. Fine haltered evening dresses also added some extra femininity to the show, coming in dark blue and salmon orange.
