Paris Fashion Week: Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 15
Two points of view
Lingerie details, menswear tailoring and 'up-cycled vintage'. These are the kinds of materials with which Martin Margiela approached a 90s influenced collection in Paris, and the anonymous in-house design team is now referencing the designer's archives with new pieces.
This season we saw tea-type dresses that were both utilitarian and romantic, all the while paying homage to Margiela's famous fractured tailoring. The third look, a pinstriped tunic, was sliced at an angle, stood out, and the rest of the collection concentrated on many mash ups of similarly sliced printed skirts, and some nude underwear pieces.
