Paris Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 15

The big reveal...

A focus on white at the start of a collection that erupted into a riotous batch of colour towards the end, Nicolas Ghesquière's seventies-inspired line for Louis Vuitton showcased at the soon-to-launch Foundation Louis Vuitton this afternoon

Opening with a futuristic video of models speaking that wouldn't have looked out of place on the Hunger Games – each chanting in one monotone voice: "Today, on October the 1st, the LV house wants to explore the ability to travel, to any part of the universe, without moving..."

And that Ghesquière did, not as far as Panem, mind you – but wherever we went it was done so with a 70s flair, or should that be 'flare', along the way. Guests were treated to a selection of chic monochromatic looks at its start, before the collection developed and matured into a host of confident beat-nick stripes of leather and military button style accents, before culminating in  burst of full-on colour and pattern at the end, all presented within Frank Gehry's vision – the monumental Fondation Louis Vuitton.
