LFW: Roksanda Illinic, Erdem, Michael Van Der Ham
The Roksanda Ilincic SS15 show had a modern edge with neoprene material, sporty sweater shapes and boxy, oversized silhouettes. A primary palette of pink, orange and blue with contrasts of black made for an impactful show, punctuated by equally sporty, flat footwear for a change.
Dark romance and foliage was the order of the day at Erdem, where the Canadian-born British-Turkish designer moved between English gardens, white crochet and a palette of greens in banana leaf prints. The catwalk featured a lush, almost tropical plant installation, making the show feel like a late-night party in a conservatory.

Besides romantic cocktail dresses, great daywear looks took the lead here, too, and there was a high-waisted jacquard skirt paired with a crisp cotton blouse that would sit happily in a professional wardrobe... And then there was the closing look – a floor-sweeping purple gown. With Michael van der Ham proving to be quite the all-rounder and launching e-commerce this month, his name is only going to become more familiar, we feel.
