London Fashion Week: JW Anderson Spring/Summer 15

Fashion bait

Jonathan Anderson has a very unique approach to working around a woman's figure, it seems most seasons his clothes are loose and androgynous - destroying familiar silhouettes and erasing the differences between the sexes - but this Spring/Summer 15 the designer unveiled a very feminine and fresh lineup

With a nautical theme drifting throughout, JW Anderson's latest collection of clothing was chic, tailored and charming. Managing to put a gently surreal twist to his looks, Anderson unveiled black leather sunhats, made extra-large and bouncy, and slimming sailor pants with a brass-buttoned flap seen on the back instead of the front.

Delicately draped tops and dresses hung with thin hemp rope, infusing a salty sea atmosphere of masts and sails into the looks. While towel-like mini-suits also played on the nautical mood. Consisting of a short skirt and cropped tailored jacket, the suits were made of densely knitted cotton, and in glossy leathers, providing both a playful and more abstract option. Anderson also used the same youthful quality with his out-of-scale buttons, collars, and sleeves.

However, Anderson managed to balance the collection perfectly between chic and awkward, as asymmetric brightly-coloured leather collar were put on loose blouses, lapels on trench coats were oversized and leather bodices were seen layered over linen dresses. With Anderson showcasing his creativity towards wearable and iconic pieces, this SS15 collection leaves us impatiently waiting for his creative women's debut for Loewe in Paris.
