New York Fashion Week: Jason Wu Spring/Summer 15

Femininity reigns

Jason Wu proves that it's perfectly possible to promote ultimate femininity without frills and ruffles

It's been a busy week for Mr Jason Wu, as he shares a modest and restrained collection in New York for his Spring/Summer 15 season. Starting half-an-hour late, prompting jokes that the designer was backstage counting his money, Wu's show felt like something in the Calvin Klein or Michael Kors category, and with that came the slick, accomplished clothes. Working with a neutral palette there were sloughy and crisp shirtdresses, side-slit skirts and a plunging navy gown that seemed to float. Also on show was the bag designed in collaboration with Diane Kruger, and the Charlotte tote (after Rampling).
