Paris Fashion Week: Comme Des Garçons Spring/Summer 15

Rei Kawakubo’s little red riding hoods

For her Spring/Summer 15 collection, Comme des Garçons’ creative director filled the room with endless looks made up of ruffles, red and razor sharp attitude

Noting backstage that the collection's colour reminded her of blood and roses, Rei Kawakubo presented a linup of volumous silhouettes and a variety of manipulated materials and textures  flat, shiny, thick, sliced, ruffled and twisted.

Looks consisted of generous detail, as Kawakubo shined a special spotlight on the art of layering. Fabrics were intricately 3D as they were puffed up with padding on models' hips and chests and thighs  creating a unique sculptural effect.

Like a fictional character from another world, Kawakubo also designed a series of exaggerated hoods, worn over red A-line cloaks made from red patent leather.
