Paris Fashion Week: Céline Spring/Summer 15

Inspired by Kate Bush

Phoebe Philo reveals a warm and immensely likeable Céline collection in Paris, inspired by the recently revived performer Kate Bush

Before The Dawn, the name of Kate Bush's current tour, was emblazoned across Phobe Philo's T-shirt as she took a bow after the Céline show in Paris, and the song This Woman's Work was the soundtrack to the show.

Philo, who saw Bush perform a few weeks ago, talked backstage about her not being a visual reference as such, but as "someone who seems to really know who she is... I'm very impressed by that". It meant that this collection was about something less aloof than the brand usually portrays – it was warm, likeable, even friendly perhaps? Definitely more feminine than usual, and it was refreshing.

Each model had her hair brushed smoothly into a girlish half-ponytail, secured with a simple gold hoop clip – a detail that recurred on the fastenings of the handbags, including the 'Trapeze', a new framed-bucket shape is one to watch.
