Retro references

The Carven girl is revamped for the new season, with Guillaume Henry presenting a melting pot of colourful retro mania, Formula 1 racing-themes and Japanese art included

Following on from its sporty menswear edit for SS15, Carven womenswear has the need for speed – as this season's creative director Guillaume Henry presents a collection that celebrates all of his signature traits.

Cultural references were plentiful, from retro influences of the 60s to the language of Formula 1 racing, across PVC python jackets and bold lines made to look like race circuit prints.

Sitting alongside those, were Japanese prints of women abstracted with contemporary graphics – and they appeared across the collection. Each design was twisted dynamically around the body, featuring pop colours.
