London Fashion Week: Simone Rocha Autumn/Winter 14
This season, Simone Rocha, who has been shortlisted for the LVMH prize, offered a fresh and exciting Autumn/Winter 14 collection with a touch of Elizabethan flair.
In her modern interpretation, the designer paired Elizabethan shapes with modern textiles including black pony skin and yellow python. The python skirts, wild and wonderful, demanded attention from the crowd. The use of embellishments, lush frills, flounces and cuffs, helped to give a touch of lightness to dark outfits.
Mid show, there was less of a focus on volume and more simplicity with garments such as black lace dresses. For the grand finale, there was an explosion of red plaid suits and bright provocative cocktail dresses.
