Selfridges showcases Jean Paul Gaultier for 'The Masters'

Out of this world space

Jean Paul Gaultier’s AW14 collection has its own space-themed installation at Selfridges in London

As part of The Masters, the department store's Autumn creative campaign, a spotlight has been placed on Gaultier's work, with Selfridges commissioning British set designer Gary Card to create a NASA-style control desk, a nod to the 'Space Age' theme of Gaultier's seasonal collection. The set, which will stand in the designer galleries area on Selfridges' second floor, will incorporate multiple screens that will play Gaultier's show interspersed with cosmic images.

Customers will also be able to sit in a 'moon buggy' installed on the set and see themselves on the screens in an outer space landscape. The concession will have the most comprehensive edit of the designers work on sale anywhere in Europe and also carry an exclusive unisex T-shirt.
