Stars come out in London to celebrate the opening of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty
David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and more
On March 12, some of the world's biggest celebrity names including David and Victoria Beckham, Colin and Livia Firth, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and husband Jamie Hince, Salma Hayek, Francois Henri Pinault and more turned up to London's V&A to celebrate the opening of the six-month long exhibition Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.
“Alexander was a London boy, and what can I say? He’s back in town,” Philip Treacy was quoted as saying. Some of Treacy's elaborate headpieces feature in the new exhibition, which celebrates the McQueen legacy.
Alexander McQueen creative director and Lee's close friend Sarah Burton – who recently debuted her new AW15 ready-to-wear collection for the brand at Paris Fashion Week – was in attendance on Thursday night, as was model Stella Tennant, designer Erdem Moralioglu, and beauty guru Charlotte Tilbury amongst many others. Burton shared her reluctance to attend the preview, telling WWD that she was afraid she might burst into tears: “I’m terrible. I would have been in bits. Lee lived London, and this show feels really personal, really intimate.”
Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty opens to the public tomorrow March 14, and will run until August 2.
