Sass & Bide to show at London Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 15
A new era for the brand without its founding duo
Sass & Bide will present its first collection without the creative direction of its founders Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke (pictured above) at London Fashion Week (LFW) for Autumn/Winter 15.
It was announced in July this year, that the founding duo – who originally set up a stall at London's Portobello Road Market selling denim before growing their label to become the Australian-based global fashion empire that it is today – were departing the business after 15 years.
British designer Anthony Cuthbertston succeeds the founders, and the new creative director will return the brand to its London roots – moving the Sass & Bide show from NYFW to LFW for his first collection, for the AW15 season. Cuthbertson's C.V. includes stints at Max Mara, Moclear, Burlington, René Lezard and Amanda Wakeley.
The news comes as speculation surrounds NYFW – with reports suggesting that longtime sponsor Mercedes-Benz could be leaving the American fashion week.
