Saks Fifth Avenue launches #SaksStyle for NYFW
Stylish social media
On Thursday, Saks Fifth Avenue will unveil what it is calling a "user-generated content hub" on its website under the tag, #SaksStyle. The new space – which was created in partnership with Curalate – is designed to shine a spotlight on products purchased from the American retailer and encourage its customers to be more active on social media.
The hub, which will only last during fashion week, will collect photos from different social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr and share them on the store's site. The images will be updated daily, allowing visitors to sort through them based on specific product categories, such as handbags or shoes.
Qianna Smith, Saks' director of social media, explained the store will identify the product worn by the women in the photos and provide a link to that exact item or a close replica on its website.
Saks will have four street-style photographers hitting the streets in New York, London, Milan and Paris to "capture the most style-savvy women," Smith stated, additionally linking the images to Sak's site so customers can immediately purchase the desired product.
