Russia to no longer take part in Florence's Pitti Uomo

No more trade show for the Northern Eurasian country

Russia will no longer be the guest national at the January edition of Florence’s Pitti Uomo trade show due to the country's recent economic issues...

Today, Pitti Immagine announced that Russia will no longer be taking part of their trade show in Florence. The change was confirmed by an official letter from the Russian Fashion Council, that had been coordinating the project with Russia's ministry of industry and commerce.

"Well-known currency issues – the collapse of the value of the ruble, which, over the last few days, has plummeted even further – and the economic crisis the country is experiencing" have compromised Russia's ability to participate in Pitti events as planned." the trade-show organizer stated.

However, Italy's Pitti and the Russian Fashion Council have agreed to reconsider a special collaboration in the future, when economic conditions have improved.
