The Italian association, AltaRoma, has cancelled its next Roman couture week, which was scheduled for January 30 to February 2 – brought on by the lack of funding

Today, Alta Roma made the difficult decision to cut next month's couture week in Rome. The choice was motivated by a lack of public funding, which won't allow it to organise two editions of AltaRoma in 2015.

AltaRoma president and Fendi's creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi said, "I hope that through the members' commitment we can break this deadlock," adding that she's "afraid that we might miss a useful occasion to reconfirm the trust in public involvement aimed at supporting development and giving hope to one of the most important productive sectors for the future re-launch of our country."

However, an AltaRoma spokesman said the summer edition of the couture week is confirmed and will be running July 11 to 15.
