Topshop Unique Cruise 2016
Topshop's creative design consultant, Geoffrey Finch, offers an aesthetic inspired by "a nocturnal adventure" in London's creative Soho neighbourhood for the Topshop Unique Cruise 2016 collection. Melding a touch of eighties "new romantic" vibes with a hint of sixties infused.
Fabric does a lot of the talking here, with leather, faux-fur and structured crushed velvet all standing out. A shift dress and power suits both make full use of the effects of the velvet, whilst elsewhere lamé added a high shine.
Roland Mouret Cruise 2016
Following a visit to the The Glamour of Italian Fashion exhibition at London's Victoria & Albert Museum last year, Roland Mouret's inspiration for this Cruise 2016 collection began to grow. "I kept the sensuality, but the collection is softer with more volume and fabric moving around the body. I'm calling it my Italian collection," said the London based designer.
The lineup takes a decidedly softer turn compared to previous, highly structured, collections both flowing movement of draping skirts and the introduction of pleats see to that. The use of pastels amongst the palette helped to support this aesthetic that resonated with a forties and fifties vibe.
Zimmermann Cruise 2016
Nicky Zimmermann presents a Cruise 2016 collection that is exemplary of the codes of the Zimmerman brand. Pretty and special event dresses and resort-wear in the truest sense. Pretty flowing dresses with detailed cut out high-low hems in polka dot and paisley-esque print are ideal for a destination wedding guest. The charming and bohemian collection remains feminine and dances from long to short hems.
