Roger Vivier presents its new Rendez-Vous Spring/Summer 16 collection
During Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week
Rendez-vous, by its definition is an assembly or a meeting, and in this Spring/Summer 16 collection, Roger Vivier, assembles an assortment of nostalgic memories from the sixties and seventies. Referencing influences as far reaching as Grace Jones, Angelica Houston, and American photographer, Peter Beard, upon his return from photographing scorched red earth and safari creatures in Africa, the collection fuses these varied influences to present a dizzying array of footwear and accessories, full of vivre.
The Gypsy Night Roger Vivier, imagined by Bruno Frisoni, creative director, seems to come out of the bush land photographed by Beard, with the minimalist sandals, punctuated by the spherical ball that separates the toes. And the gladiator high heels embellished with silver sequins that weave up the leg, blend seventies disco with African tribal aesthetics.
