On Monday, the former Beatles legend who just turned 74, was named the new face of John Varvatos’ Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, celebrating in style with a party in front of the famed Capitol Records building in Hollywood

For Ringo Starr's birthday bash – thrown by American menswear designer John Varvatos– the musician posed with fans as they threw up a peace sign as part of an initiative to raise money for the Ringo Starr Peace & Love Fund.

The unique initiative also consists of a behind-the-scenes video and a social media peace-themed tagline, #peacerocks, while the new campaign images feature Starr doing his signature peace sign hand gesture sporting Varvatos' latest ensembles.

For the rest of 2014, $1 will be donated to the Ringo Starr Peace & Love Fund for every picture shared on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Vine of a person making a peace sign, along with the hashtag #peacerocks.

There will also be Peace Shops installed at various locations where John Varvatos merchandise is sold, with limited-edition Peace Rocks T-shirts available to purchase. The proceeds from the T-shirt sales will even be donated to Starr's charity.
