Rihanna becomes the new creative director of Puma
The Barbadian singer signs the dotted line
Adding yet another fashion collaboration under her belt, the 26-year-old pop star will soon oversee Puma's women's line, including clothing and shoes, as well as star in the brand's Autumn/Winter 2015 ad campaign and be one of its global brand ambassadors.
"I love designing. I've always enjoyed it. The thing I love most is the unexpected result between my brand and theirs, the combination, the marriage – it's like having a baby, you put two things together and all of the sudden it bursts into a new thing." Rihanna told WWD on her new partnership.
According to a press release, Rihanna will work with Puma to design and customise classic Puma styles as well as create new styles. Yesterday, the Grammy-winner flew to the brand's headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany, for her first design meeting. Also telling WWD about her long admiration for the German sportswear label, "Some of the first sneakers I owned were Puma, and I wore them to death, until they had holes in them."
