Rami Al Ali unveiled his Autumn/Winter 15 couture collection in Paris yesterday, flooding the La Maison Champs Elysees venue with a throwback to the golden-era of Hollywood. This year marks the eight year that the Syrian-born designer has showcased his collection in Paris and this twenty-strong lineup was an elegant example of his gown design finesse.
Al Ali sculpts stiff boucle and satin de chez fabric into artfully structured silhouettes, with undulating ruffles and folds that create grandeur and volume. These shapes are juxtaposed with softer floating muslin layers elsewhere, that move with liquid fluidity.
