First look: Ralph Lauren Pre-Fall 2015

Mind the hump...

An admirer of classics, for Pre-Fall 75-year-old Ralph Lauren took some of his style cues from the Midwest and the colours of camels...

As the American designer strolled past his camel-centric looks during a walk through of his latest collection, he said "Camel hair can be very boring," however, leave it to Ralph Lauren to make it modernly chic and wearable.

Going for "total luxury, but simplicity and fashion," Ralph Lauren's Pre-Fall 15 collection consisted off fluid looks that integrated beautiful knitwear with some signature tailoring as well as unique textural combinations. Big cashmere tunics were paired with white jeans, while a Mongolian lamb vest with a fluffy lapel provided an outerwear options for a thin chiffon dress – refined yet rough.

Throughout the lineup fringing also made a large impact, seen across macramé dresses, leather jackets, on the side of sweaters and on an array of suede handbags. "It's got a native sensibility," Mr. Lauren said. "And it's got a Madison Avenue look."
