Fifties flair

Like many Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture shows this season, Ralph & Russo's creative director Tamara Ralph decided to use flowers as her main inspiration, fusing her sculpted ‘50s party dresses and silky gowns with delicate embroideries of vines and blossoms

Using a simple colour palette of white with pops of lavender, pink and black, Ralph & Russo's beautiful Haute Couture collection focused on floral details and lady-like silhouettes. Full-on 3D petals and other glittery decorations covered dresses and short jackets while off-the-shoulder draped gowns provided the lineup with some simplistic drama.

The British couture house, which is known for its fine handiwork and finesse, added some vintage distinction to Tamara Ralph's usually demure cuts with some new retro shapes. For Spring/Summer 15, boxy cocktail dresses featured multiple peplums or heavy volumes around the waists, as well as the addition of long and short capes which were gently thrown over long beaded gowns.
