Great Britain is honouring a wealth of talent this week as the annual Queen's Honours list is revealed, with Zandra Rhodes taking one of the top titles

Queen Elizabeth II has granted one of her highest honours to fashion designer Zandra Rhodes, for her services to the British fashion and textiles industry.

The award is given at the same time as it was announced that Angelina Jolie would also be receiving a damehood. The title is equivalent to a knighthood, as part of the annual Queen’s Birthday Honours. Rhodes and Jolie were given the title this year along with author Hilary Mantel, who penned the prize-winning Tudor-era novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies.

Rhodes is a designer made famous for her vivid prints — and her pink hair — and is considered to be an icon of 70s fashion.
