Prada Spring/Summer wins in the fashion category for Designs of the Year 2014
Pipping Dior to the post
The punchy, Pop Art-inspired collection has been awarded winner in the fashion category for the Design Museum's annual Designs of the Year Awards.
Miuccia's collection pipped Dior designer Rick Owens' edit, who was nominated twice: firstly for his Dior debut and secondly for his namesake's SS14 collection.
Prada Spring/Summer 14 scooped the coveted award also beating Dubai-based DAS Collection's modern take on the abaya, Tracey Neuls 'Bike Geek', Sadie Williams' collection of 3D embossed gowns and Ronaldo Fraga's Hinterland collection.
The prestigious awards also includes categories for furniture, architecture, product, graphic and transport design. The overall winner will be announced on June 30, with all of the 69 nominated designs and designers on display in the Design Museum until August 30.
The GOV.UK website won last years overall Design of the Year prize and the fashion category winner was scooped by documentary Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel.
