Pierre Bergé makes New Years Honours List and is declared a Grand Officer

Yves Saint Laurent's longtime partner honoured in France

Longtime partner of Yves Saint Laurent, media magnate, and president of the Aids charity Sidaction – Pierre Bergé – was declared a Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest civilian decoration, on New Year’s Day yesterday

As well as Pierre Bergé's inclusion and honour of becoming a Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor (France's highest civilian decoration), the adviser to LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton chairman and chief executive officer Bernard Arnault – Jean-Paul Claverie – was also promoted to Officer of the Legion of Honor in the annual list. Claverie was an intrinsic cog in the construction of the recently opened Fondation Louis Vuitton.

A handful of executives in the cosmetics industry were also honoured on the list: The founder of skincare company Caudalie Mathilde, Cathiard-Thomas; The president of new ventures at LVMH perfumes & cosmetics, Hugues Dusséaux; and François Luscan, president and ceo of packaging manufacturer Albéa, were all made Knights of the Legion of Honor.
