Paris Fashion Week: Valentino Autumn/Winter 14
The label's love affair with the colour red is still going strong, yet this season it has a competitor in the form of a beautiful green hue, which made an appearance on a selection of dramatic pieces. Feminine silhouettes with emphasised collars and waist lines were presented, featuring designs including hearts, butterflies, floral, and stars, fitting for a whimsical wonderland. Magical capes with colourful spots added to the fairy tale vibe similar to the characters presented at Dolce & Gabbana - but Valentino girls are more like Little Red Riding Hood with a 60s twist. Following creative designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli's show, Valentino himself stood up from the front row and cried - enhancing the emotional display.
