With graphic and contrasting prints, layers and voluminous pieces, Kenzo delivers a high energy collection for AW14

There's always more to fashion shows than just beautiful clothes when designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are involved. For the Opening Ceremony show during New York Fashion Week, the designers transformed the runway into a chocolate fountain spectacle; and for Kenzo, where the design duo head up the creative department, they hired film director David Lynch to design the fashion show set.

Guests including Jessica Alba, Leigh Lezark and Kenzo Takada - the founder of Kenzo who left the brand in 1999, were in attendance. "I'm very happy. They have brought a fresh spirit and something contemporary and very fresh. I like it a lot," Takada revealed.

This season, the Kenzo girl is chic, opting to wear skirts over trouser suits, and layering contrasting prints for extra impact; she has an appreciation for graphic prints and sequin embellished pieces - and exudes an anything goes attitude which she nails effortlessly.

On the beauty front, the complexion is natural, hair is pulled back into slick ponytails, and the focus is on eyelids painted in a beautiful royal blue hue.
