Just in: Paris Fashion Week is confirmed for this Fall
The 'Big Four' in fashion, otherwise known as the cities where the most prominent fashion weeks are held (New York, London, Milan and Paris) are still under the microscope as luxury brands have been cancelling their slated spots — the norm since the coronavirus pandemic hit.
Whilst brands including Saint Laurent and Michael Kors have reassessed their respective calendars, several major luxury houses are still moving ahead with plans for a runway show, despite the uncertainty of the global health crisis.
Burberry recently announced that it will stage a live, outdoor show in September, which was then followed by Dior's decision to go ahead with a runway show (with no live audience) in July for Cruise '21. As these moves could be taken as a sign of the future of fashion, it seems that Paris is still looking at September for a full-on calendar of shows.
The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (the governing body of French fashion), announced the news this morning. The statement confirms "it will take place from Monday 28 September to Tuesday 6 October and will comply with the recommendations of the public authorities for its implementation."
As for whether people will be able to travel and attend the runway shows in Paris remains to be seen.
