Alexander McQueen takes us to a mysterious world for AW14, complete with it own unique and dark, magical charm

Sarah Burton compared her characters to those from childhood fairytale Beauty and the Beast yesterday in Paris however the Alexander McQueen girls carry both elements at once: innocence and mystery, wild and free. Quite the departure from last season

At the label's Autumn/Winter 14 show, the catwalk was transformed into a wild heath, featuring pale models mostly dressed in black and white ensembles, resembling Victorian maidens and warlike savages in furs. Then a touch of tenderness entered the dark place shown in the beginning, fabrics blooming with flowers, as well as pieces featuring feathers and a moss-like finish. The show ended with two white ensembles which reminded us of an awakened Sleeping Beauty.
