First look: The Paper London Autumn/Winter 15 look book
Although the Kelly Townsend and Philippa Thackeray founded British label, Paper London, is a relative new comer to the fashion landscape, with four years under its belt since its 2011 launch, it has found a clear identity – clean sharp silhouettes constructed from luxurious textured fabrics. And the Autumn/Winter 15 collection is every bit as modern and sleek as Paper fans (who include Jennifer Lopez, Margot Robbie and Taylor Swift) have come to expect.
The collection comprises clean, curved lines and rich fabrics that form characteristically sculptural shapes, that are easily the right side of wearable art, with strong architectural influence, as Kelly Townsend, creative director, explains: "I studied the work of architects such as Mies van de Rohe, Eames and Tadao Ando, before embarking on the design and creation of AW15. The extreme simplicity of their structural forms is echoed within the collection, and with it I tried to provoke an essence of femininity."
With rich midnight and marine blues dwelling amongst shades of black and white, the palette darts between sultry and brightly wearable, with pops of pistachio and autumnal orange and brown. Soft knits, wools and light touches of fur trim ensure the luxury of this lineup.
