First look: Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2015

Oscar's last collection

As Oscar de la Renta’s spirit filled the room, with the house's new creative director, Peter Copping, sitting front row as just another show-goer, the Pre-Fall 15 collection consisted of the late designer’s last creations

After Oscar de la Renta's death in October, the American label's latest collection was a manifesto to the famed creative, filled with feminine silhouettes, and bright colours. 

India was the inspiration for the Pre-Fall 15 collection, evident in the mass of hot pink, floral patterns and stunning thread embroidery. Sari's were modernised by using ruffles wrapped around the body, or fur pieces placed across models chests horizontally. However Oscar de la Renta's true essence was seen amongst the lineup's cocktail dresses and gowns, which mostly featured a New Look-shape, tulle, floral-thread handwork and gold or silver embellishment.
