From Caribbean schoolgirls to Mexican tablecloths and collections that have doubled in size, Buro 24/7 highlights 3 beautiful new lines from the Cruise 2014/15 presentations yesterday

Peter Copping drew inspiration from a National Geographic three-volume set of books chronicling 125 years of photographers for the Nina Ricci woman. Explaining "I cherry picked from different cultures and applied them to what we do." Pulling on references from Caribbean schoolgirls, traditional African tribal paints, Mexican tablecloths and American sportswear to create an unlikely lineup for Nina Ricci Cruise.

Expansion was the key word for Naeem Khan, who created a 95-piece Cruise collection at the request of his various global retailers – making it a collection that is twice the size of last year's mid-seasonal offering. Featuring the typical figure-hugging gowns, alongside kaftans created especially for his Middle East clientele in the beautiful hand-embroidered embellishments that everyone has come to expect of Khan.

Meanwhile, Zac Posen offered up a decidedly (and unexpectedly) minimalist collection for Cruise - using a neutral palette of ivory, beige and navy on clean silhouettes, explaining that "as the clothing gets cleaner, the lines can get more architectural" – and that they did.
