Inspired by their childhood growing up in the early 80s, the sisters behind Rodarte serve up a nostalgic range at New York Fashion Week

Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the sisters behind the brand and founders of Rodarte, took a trip down memory lane for their Autumn/Winter 14 collection that gathered inspiration from their childhood memories as young girls growing up in the early 80s.

Self-confessed film fanatics, the designer duo's nostalgic range displayed true fashion force with the help of creative gowns featuring Star Wars characters. According to Kate, the Star Wars films "represent for us a time when anything was possible."

Rodarte impressed with a well-designed edit of chiffon dresses and jumpsuits, turtlenecks, masculine drawsting pants, crochet jumpers and vibrant eyeglasses. Collection highlights included coats enhanced with glitter and shearling collars, as well as striped sequin gowns.
