From Bahrain to NYFW, royal cousins Shaikha Haya and Shaikha Noor reveal an expanded repertoire to a high profile audience

Following on from an exclusive sketch share and interview with Buro 24/7 Middle East this week, Bahraini label Noon By Noor showed its impressive Autumn/Winter 14 collection in New York last night at The Salon, Lincoln Center.

This season the designers and cousins expand their eveningwear repertoire, focusing on exquisite detail, unexpected fabric combinations and intricate embellishments, which are delicately scattered on dresses or densely cascade down tiered gowns. Meanwhile daywear is sporty and effortless with hints of masculine tailoring.

With pops of yellow, chartreuse and royal purple, texture has been explored by Shaikha Noor and Shaikha Haya – combining felt and faux fur, chiffon and heavy crepe as well as leather and felt. Neoprene, waffle wool, mohair and a houndstooth jacquard wool were also thrown into the mix, admired by guests that included Solange Knowles, supermodel Coco Rocha, photographer Nigel Barker and DJ Leigh Lezark.
