A new name in fashion: Najeeba Hayat
With a fantasy vision towards design, Najeeba Hayat is one of the newest names among the footwear scene. Residing in Milan after finishing her studies at the Ars Sutoria School, Hayat currently has her mind set on ruling the world, one shoe at a time.
Showcasing her enthusiasm for the craftsmanship of shoes, the accessory fanatic explained "I am an integrity extremist. I will keep production and design to top-level or I won't sell it. It goes against my nature to do something mediocre or sell out!" of her brand Liudmila, which she started after reading Fyodor Sologub's Russian classic The Pretty Demon – naming it after its heroine...
She was enchanted by Liudmila Rutilova's "dynamism, her drama, and the sparkling beauty of the objects that adorned her. She was not ornamental, nor hampered by the beautiful objects she loved." Designing every component of her classic cartoonish shoes, from curved heels to delicate soles. Hayat even custom-dyed leather to achieve the perfect matte cartoon colours from Peter Pan's Mermaid Lagoon.
Flirty, edgy, and innovative, with every design remaining authentic and wearable, each Liudmila shoe has a story to tell, "In terms of design, if people end up liking my shoes, I hope to expand the line into permanent and seasonal collections and be able to experiment more elaborately with heels. My imagination has already run ahead of me and designed my next five collections, which I'm sure I will totally scrap and remake when the time comes. The shoe has to be what I love most or I won't make it. So here's to the fantasy! May it never die!"
