Net-a-Porter sells $219k worth of Karl Lagerfeld Barbies in one morning
Barbie is super hot right now. So hot, in fact, that she sold out like a batch of proverbial hot cakes on Net-a-Porter yesterday morning. See what we did there?
The e-commerce mastermind started selling the Karl Lagerfeld-inspired Barbie doll for around $220 yesterday morning, cleverly in line with final PFW proceedings (when fashion is getting the better of most sane minds), and by lunchtime it had managed to sell out in record time.
Net-a-Porter confirmed that it had stock of 999 of the dolls available to buy, meaning they achieved around $219,000 in simple Barbie sales... Naturally resulting in a flux of the fashionable plastic pieces on eBay, today.
