First look: Missoni Cruise 2016
Angela Missoni finds inspiration in the work of artist Sonia Delaunay, who was also admired by Missoni's mother. Delaunay, who currently has a retrospective exhibition at London's Tate Modern, works a lot with geometric mosaics, in a colourful palette, and those influences are evident in this Missoni Cruise 2016 collection.
Silk blouses are treated with artistic prints in vibrant colours and dyed prints are applied to fitted trousers and long dresses in a quasi-patchwork arrangement. Elsewhere the generous use of the 'sound-wave' motif in the collection's presiding bold palette looked modern and contemporary.
